Imam Jawad Charity Organization Programs

The programs of Imam Jawad Charity fall into five main categories, each of which includes several types of activities.

Livelihood Support Programs

Livelihood Support Programs: Livelihood support is one of the top priorities of the IJCO, as it addresses the most basic needs of families. A significant portion of our resources is dedicated to this area. Our programs include the distribution of food packages, hot meals, clothing, and essential household items. During the cold season, we also provide coal, gas, and firewood, along with financial assistance for electricity bills.

Health Programs

Access to healthcare remains one of the biggest challenges for many vulnerable families in Afghanistan. For this reason, health support has become one of the main priorities of IJCO and one of the Organization’s largest areas of work. Through its health programs, IJCO provides medical assistance to patients who are unable to afford treatment and healthcare services. Support includes free medical examinations and medication, financial assistance for surgeries and medical treatment within and outside the country, and mobile medical teams that provide in-home care and examinations for patients with chronic illnesses or special medical conditions.

Education Programs

Education is one of the most important foundations for the development and future of any society. Recognizing the vital role of education in creating better opportunities for children and young people, Imam Jawad Charity has developed a range of educational support programs aimed at assisting underprivileged students and helping them continue their studies from early education to higher education without financial barriers.
The Organization’s educational support includes scholarships and financial assistance for primary and secondary school students, distribution of stationery and educational materials, and transportation support for underprivileged students.

Social Service Programs

Providing social support is a shared responsibility within every society. In Afghanistan, ongoing economic and social challenges have made access to many essential services difficult for vulnerable families and underserved communities.
In response to these needs, IJCO implements a variety of social service programs aimed at supporting vulnerable households and improving community well-being. These initiatives include providing access to clean water in underserved areas, supporting housing for homeless families, assisting with house rent expenses, creating livelihood opportunities through small scale businesses such as sewing, basket weaving, carpet weaving, and khorjin weaving, as well as offering funeral assistance for families in need.

Cultural Programs

Cultural traditions, family values, and religious beliefs play an important role in the lives of many people in Afghanistan and help strengthen social ties within communities. Important
occasions such as marriage and family gatherings carry deep cultural and spiritual significance. However, economic difficulties often prevent low-income families from fully participating in these important moments of life. In response to these needs, Imam Jawad Charity implements various cultural programs aimed at supporting vulnerable families and promoting community well-being. These activities include
marriage support grants, household item assistance for newly married couples, and the construction and equipping of libraries to encourage education and cultural development.
