To support low-income families, the Imam Jawad Charity Organization carried out the third phase of its annual food distribution program on Friday, November 11. During this round, food packages were delivered to families under the organization’s care across 14 districts of Herat city.
Each package contained nine essential food and hygiene items, including rice, cooking oil, pasta packs, sugar, chickpeas, beans, soya chunks, and cleaning supplies.

As part of its ongoing livelihood support services, the Imam Jawad Charity Organization distributes seasonal food packages every year. For many families, this program serves as a crucial monthly safety net. One recipient shared, “Yesterday I was thinking about how to get through this month. When the organization called me, I felt so relieved. Now at least I don’t have to worry about food.”
With rising economic pressures and increasing poverty affecting vulnerable families across Afghanistan, the continuation of such initiatives has become even more vital.
